Scrap Around The World April Challenge

Hi Everyone, here today with a quick share on my take of the 'Scrap Around the World' April challenge.  I just found this mood board to be so inspiring, mainly because I LOVE the sea/ocean and all to do with it so couldn't help playing along!

I decided on this picture of my boy taken on our travels a couple of years ago by a friend Tiff Firth of Tiff Firth Photography.  She caught the cheeky in my boy so well this day with sand on his hands and his wind tossed hair.  I love natural pics of my boys and this one was no exception.

Products Used:

Core-dinations cardstock smooth white

Yes we might have picked up some new Prima products at the recent expo... I REALLY miss having a local shop to go down to and touch and feel the products.

Here is this month's Challenge (click on the pic to get more information and see the talented team's inspiration for this challenge)

There are lots of inspirational elements from this mood board in my page.  The natural wood, wire, rope, blue water and also various sea elements from the pattern papers I used.

Here are some more pics for you to get up and close with the page :D

I hope you enjoyed my take on this month's challenge determined to not be the last entry this month!!

Creative Cards with Ruby Rock-it

Hi Everyone here again today to share with you some fun I had with vellum and one of the new Bella fundamentals Wedding ranges. These wedding ranges are just so versatile!

I didn't actually make even one wedding card!

For this first card I embossed the vellum and then passed a distress ink pad over the top picking up the embossed design and adding a soft pink feel to the embossed vellum

This next card I created a softer background using the Spellbinders 'Pierced Squares' die set I added some stitching lines ( a little hard to see) as an inner border.  I then used the lovely 'Rustic Charm' paper collection to make lots of bunting in different shapes.  Finished off with a die cut and coloured butterfly, some cream twine and of course some of the matching 'Rustic Charm' Droplets!

This last card I added some torn strips of vellum to the die cut base of pink.  I love the white edge tearing vellum creates.

Products Used:

Bella Fundamentals Krafty Goodness Paperz
Bella Fundamentals Clear Stamps - Sentiments
Bella Fundamentals Clear Stamps - Birthday
Ruby Rockit - Get Hitched droplets
Bella Fundamentals - Vellum A4 Sheets
Bella Fundamentals - Cardmaking cardstock 20pk

Partner Product:
Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A die set
Spellbinders Labels 1 die set

I hope you enjoyed my share today with a look at different ways you can use the beautiful Bella Fundamentals vellum to create come beautiful creative cards.

Scrapbooking Memories and Chameleon Color Tones Pens giveaway!

Hi there crafty peeps!  I hope you are all having a fantastic week.  The weather is starting to get colder here, not really my favourite time of year Winter, so I'm dreading the months ahead!

I have been VERY busy with the magazines and lots of my published work is coming out.  One very special article is my new 'Out of the Box' feature where I have a play with mostly new on the market products sharing a little about them as well as some ideas on how they can be used both obviously as well as in some 'out of the box' ways.  This month's article is on Chameleon Color Tones pens.

These pens are so much fun!!

In the first layout I used the pens on the Chipboard Butterflies.
I'd also like to give a little credit to one very talented lady Kim Ewins as it was here that inspired me to layer my strips of paper in the way I have.  she does it all the time and I just knew it was a perfect accent for my layout.  In the second page I used them to make some die cuts come to life.

These pens are versatile alcohol pens reasonable still new on the market.  Chameleon Color Tones have been generous already providing me with a full set of these wonderful markers, so rather than just keep the set I received from Scrapbooking Memories for the Article, I spoke with the Editor about doing giveaway of them!  YES!! You can win these!!

Over the month that his magazine is on the shelves in store you can leave a comment with how you would love to use the pens on your projects now you have read my article.  I would also love some more blog followers, so if you would like to follow my blog to keep up to date with more inspiration as well as where I might be teaching, just click on the 'follow' button top right of my blog.

I share more ideas for using these pens on your scrapbooking pages in the article, so make sure you pick up a copy of the latest Scrapbooking Memories Magazine at a Newsagent, Supermarket or Scrapbooking store near you!

I hope you like my share today and are inspired to have a go with these pens yourself!

Entries Close Midnight on 25th May 2015 Australian Eastern Standard time and only open to Australian Residence.  Winner will be chosen random.

Happy Crafting!

Sweet Baby card

Hi Everyone, I thought I would pop in today with a quick post sharing a cute baby girl card I made.

New babies are so precious and I really wanted that reflected in the card.   I also wanted it to have a little bit of a modern feel but still be very pretty in its feel.

I am still loving gold at the moment as a beautiful accent.  Too much gold can look a bit overdone, but a beautiful accent of gold looks OH SO elegant!

Product list:
Bazzill Cardshoppe Cardstock in Cotton Candy, Sour Lemon, Marshmallow and Robin's Egg
Bazzill foil gold cardstock
D'lish Scraps flowers
Kaisercraft collectables and flowers
Lawn Fawn sequins

HOW TO:

To create the card I simply layered the different colour cardstocks for the base, added the embossed white cardstock and then topped with a few die cuts along with the 'Baby Girl' ribbon banner.  Finishing it off was so easy with those adorable yellow sequin flowers and my favourite fine twine!

Challenge Entries:

I thought I would play along with some challenges this month so I have entered my card in the following challenges:

Come and Get it Challenges - The challenge is things that start with 'B'  - Baby for my card today
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenges - Springtime flowers - LOVE these D'Lish flowers on my card
Simply Create Too Challenge - No Digis or stamped images - My sentiment came from a Kaisercraft
Collectable piece
Stampotique Designers Challenge - SCD191 - Circles - I have a total of 5 on my card... can you see them all?
Quick Quotes Blog - Celebrate - Births are so sweet to celebrate!
Creative Fingers Challenge Blog - Anything goes!  I can't believe how many 'Anythng goes' challenges there are out there and I love the idea giving many an opportunity to share their latest creation with larger audiences!

I hope you enjoyed my share today.

Happy Crafting!

Hi Everyone, Beck here with a Monday's Blues post, for those days when we might struggle to get started it's good to go and look for some inspiration and what better than on the internet.  There are many challenge blogs out there and this month I have taken my inspiration from an Australian Scrapbooking Challenge blog called White with 1.  Essentially they choose a colour each month that needs to be teamed up with white for the Scrapbooking pages submitted.  Although the site is for Scrapbooking pages I have decided to adapt it for a card today.

Click on the above picture to be taken to the site for more information on the challenge.

Products Used:

Bella Fundamentals Fusion floral paper UI79
Ruby Rock-it Country Cookin Droplets
Bella Fundamentals florals in white

Partner Product:
Spellbinders S4-414 Captivating Squares

The flowers and droplets were the perfect finish off for my card.

I hope I have given you a new idea for finding inspiration for your projects, and to think a little outside the square, just because a site might be offering inspiration for a certain type of project, it doesn't mean you can't adapt it to the type of project you might enjoy more.

Happy Crafting!
