Spellbinders feathers feature

Each month Spellbinders® features a particular die and one of the Design team members provides inspiration and instructions for 3 projects, one beginner level, one intermediate and one advanced.  This month has been my turn to share projects using the new Feathers die set.  Oh how I love this set!

The first of my projects are a set of earrings that are SO easy to make.  Perfect as a gift for someone special or simply for yourself!  These can be made with any of the coloured foils available from Spellbinders®!

The next of my projects is this Dream Catcher inspiration card.  I teamed up the feathers die set with some Lacey circles and the new Labels Thirty-six - love this set!  There is some fun layering and stencilling on this card.

The last project is a Scrapbook layout of my boys.  I just adore this pic of the two of them that I captured at the playground one day.  The background is created using my Tinby Designs Metallic Melts, just LOVE how that comes up on the dark background.  Lots of fun layering on this again, threading in and out to create added interest.  Takes a bit of patience but always worth it!

I teamed up the feathers with some circles and super ellipse Spellbinders® dies.

You can check out the full list of products used on these projects, as well as full instructions to give them a go yourself on the Spellbinders® Website.

There are LOADS of projects in the featured tutorials section all with instructions, so make sure you take a look around!

First Faber-Castell Guest Design Team post

I was so excited last week to see my first post go live on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft blog.  I was so inspired by the new products they shipped to us for making the guest team and had so much fun creating this layout with them.

You can check out my full post and a video on how the layout came together here.

I used the following Spellbinders dies when creating this one:

IN - 024 Birds on a Wire                       IN-015 Shoot!                     S5-191 Decorative labels
                                                                                                                    Twenty-eight

I also used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to die cut some old X-Rays to create the frames around the photo.  The cute little wooden star buttons and twine are available from Craft Queen.

Here are some detail shots of the layout so you can get up close in the mean time :)

Hope you enjoyed my share today, and I will be drawing my Facebook contest winner REAL SOON!

Melbourne Scrapbook and Papercraft expo

WOW what a weekend!  I had so much fun teaching, inspiring and talking to so many ladies over the weekend.  Making new friends and catching up with old.  I was very busy with 2 classes  for Craft Queen back to back each day, followed up by a presentation on stage sharing my Scrapbooking journey and tips for scrapbooking.  Here are the few photos I managed to take or have taken :)

Here is a pic of my Tutors display - I never see my work displayed like this at home so it was nice to see it all come together.  I had lots of fun decorating my letters for the display too.

Here are some close ups too

Each day I gave a presentation about my Scrapbooking journey, talking about being on design teams, and sharing tips for scrapbooking their memories.

I taught two classes a day at the expo featuring Spellbinders dies, the features of them, using them and even giving some away in each class!  Thanks Spellbinders!  We also had lots of fun with Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts products in the class so thanks as well!

I also got to meet and chat with the adorable Emma Lou Beechy from Heatfelt Creations, definitely a highlight for me!

Thanks to everyone who popped past and said hi and especially to the lovely ladies that booked into my classes, it was wonderful to get to know you all and have some fun together!

Happy Valentines day - cards and video to share

Today I have my very first blog post up on the Spellbinders blog.  Would love you to check it out and see how I created this sweet card perfect for valentines day or any other moment worth celebrating!

Check out the full post here

I have also had a video go live on the Spellbinders You Tube channel.  this is the sweetest page, so I hope you enjoy the video showing how it comes together!

Another Valentines day Card to share :)  I made this with the same foil heart die cut that you can see how I did it on the Spellbinders blog (link above)  I used the lovely heart paper from the Glitz Design 'Wild and free' collection that you will be seeing some more of next week in the form of layouts - so stay tuned for that!

I am also entering this into one of their monthy challenges which go up weekly with AWESOME prizes up for grabs!  I LOVE their collections, so this was a no brainer!  Check out the details of their challenges and have some fun taking part yourself!  HERE  I'm entering week 2 with this card below.

Love how the black pops on this one!  The alpha stickers were a perfect team up with the heart paper to create the perfect contrast.

Also, just a little reminder that bookings for my classes at the Scrapbook and Papercraft expo are now open and spots filling fast.  They will both be fun classes and you will be learning lots of different techniques, there will be giveaways in each class and we will be focusing backgrounds, layering with spellbinders dies and design.  I have even done all the die cutting for you to save time, but will demo and you can have a go as well if you haven't done it before. So much to share!

I also have a bit of a giveaway happening on Facebook, so check out my page for details here

Scrap the Boys February Challenge - DT take

How exciting, the new challenge over at Scrap the Boys is up!   I love the challenge for this month which is really a fantastic prompt to make sure we scrap those important memories.

Head on over for all the challenge details and LOADS of inspiration from the Design team.

Here is my DT inspiration take on the challenge.

I had fun creating this one while we were away and although it took me a couple of goes on the background I love how it came :)  I had lots of fun on this one with paint, Faber-Castell Design Memory Crafts gelatos, inks, stamps and stencils.  Of course there are some yummy spellbinders dies on there... I created the frames by nesting Classic rectangles large and small for fine rectangles :)

I'm so glad I was prompted to capture this memory!
