All stitched up for Valentines day cards with Ruby Rock-it Bella Fundamentals

Hi Everyone love is in the air and I have had so much fun creating some sweet cards ready for Valentines day, a wedding or even an anniversary.  I couldn't stop at one card today so I created 3 for you to enjoy!

I got a Silhouette machine for Christmas and I have been enjoying having a little fun with it lately.   I just knew teaming up some cut files with these divine papers and embellishments in the Fundamentals ranges would be just perfect!  You may have noticed I have a running affair with the doilies, well today I'm going to show you a neat way to use them on your cards.

Here are the 3 cards I created.

I decided to explore the different colours in the collections teaming them up with the beautiful colourful card bases.  For my first card I went with the sweet green tone.

Head to the Ruby Rock-it blog for a full list of the products i used

I wanted to share with you how I created it, so hear goes!

I started by creating some fun cut files, I'll use these for the 3 cards.

I created this layered heart from a couple of cut files on the silhouette machine.

I took the square design and adhered some strips of the 'Trimming' pattern paper behind to highlight some of the words.

Next I added some stitching around the edge, backed it onto some white cardstock and adhered to the coloured card base.
Next I added one of the sweet doilies followed by the heart

To finish I added a silver cord bow followed by a smaller heart which I also added some stitching around.

Here are some more pictures so you can get up close to my card.

Now onto the second card!

I took the second of my silhouette cuts and added some of the 'chevron' pattern paper behind.  Layering this onto some embossed cardstock I stitched around the layers before adhering together.

To add the cluster I layered a doily, silver cord bow and a layered heart.

To create the heart I cut out 3 different sized hearts and stitched them together with a line down the middle.  I then folded the layers up for some sweet dimension.

Here are some up close pictures of the card.  I just love the pattern papers peeking through the negative space of the cut words.

So you are still waiting for the neat idea to use the doilies!  Well in the third card I used them in a fun way.

Rather than adding an embossed feature to this card I created the illusion of embossing by adhering the doilies to the background instead.  They look amazingly sweet used in this way I think.

I love the sweet hearts on the 'lovehearts' paper and they are just a perfect embellishment at times as well.

Well Valentines day is just around the corner and I now just have one dilemma... which one do I choose to give to my dear hubby??

Hope you enjoyed my share today.

Happy Crafting!
