Hey
Everyone, I'm back today with an exciting share. Today I am part of a
blog hop to celebrate the new releases by RG. These new collections are
so much fun to create with and today I’m going to be using the new ‘Silver and
Gold’ collection.
I’m away at the moment
on our Summer holiday so I was a little limited by what I had with me to use
from the collection, so I decided so focus on the beautiful dies and how you
don’t need a great deal more to still create a beautiful page as well as how versatile they are.
For my project I used the following:
RG - Richard Garay
'Silver and Gold' Full Bloom Die Set
'Silver and Gold' Gold Blooms Set
'Silver and Gold' Doiley Burst set
'Silver and Gold' Marigold set
Fun Stampers Journey
Journey Watercolor pencils - 0015, 0017, 0027 & 0029
Journey Gesso
Journey sequin trim in yellow
Journey White cardstock 12 x 12"
So I set my self up outside, away from where we were camping. Seeing I forgot to take some water - sort of an important ingredient for working with watercolours... I had to drink my wine a little quicker than planned! So I had my white cardstock and watercolour pencils and I was ready to go.
I started by adding the pencil direct to my cardstock.
Next I took the paint brush in the tin and added some water to activate the watercolour in the pencil added to my page.
Once this was softened I then used a plastic bag to make my edges a little more rustic by placing it in the still wet watercolour and then stamping down on the edges.
After looking at the page at this stage, I wanted to add a little texture into the page but not too much.
I decided on a little Gesso added using the back of a paint brush. I added it in pretty randomly breaking up the watercolor and adding a little texture.
I added the die cuts in white cardstock layered as shown. Given the design the break up the watercolour so well. I also added a little sparkle in with the sequin trim.
Here are some more pictures so you can get up a little closer.
